The Shakespeare 396-1 is a compact, single-section 5-foot VHF antenna built for straightforward deck mounting on powerboats, runabouts, and smaller cruisers. With brass and copper antenna elements, an integral deck mount base, and a 15-foot RG58 coaxial cable with PL-259 connector already attached, it’s a complete, ready-to-install solution — no separate mount or cable purchase required. The 3 dB gain pattern provides reliable omnidirectional coverage suited to coastal and near-shore VHF communication.
