The Sherwood 10615K is a complete flexible impeller service kit for a wide range of Sherwood engine-driven raw-water pumps. Its 12-blade neoprene impeller uses a 5/8-inch keyed hub with a 3/16-inch keyway and is designed to restore reliable seawater circulation through marine engine cooling systems. The kit includes the impeller, required gasket, O-ring and Sherwood service instructions.

Engine Compatibility
Documented engine and marine-generator associations include selected:
- Chris-Craft 307, 327Q and 454 applications
- Chrysler 318 and 360 applications
- Cummins 4BT and 6BT marine diesels
- Onan MDK and MDL-series generators
- Perkins 6-354 marine diesels
- Pleasurecraft and PCM gasoline inboards
- Crusader gasoline inboards
- Westerbeke four- and six-cylinder diesel applications
Exact compatibility depends on the installed pump model, shaft configuration and engine cooling-system assembly.
Fitment Notice
Do not select this impeller by engine brand or displacement alone. Confirm that the installed pump requires:
- Sherwood 10615K
- 2-9/16-inch outside diameter
- 1-5/8-inch width
- Twelve flexible blades
- 5/8-inch shaft
- 3/16-inch keyed drive
This is a keyed-shaft impeller and should not be confused with similarly sized splined-hub impellers.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the impeller when:
- Raw-water flow becomes weak or intermittent
- Engine temperature begins rising above normal
- Cooling-system or exhaust-temperature alarms activate
- The blades are cracked, torn, stiff or permanently bent
- Pieces are missing from the impeller
- The keyed hub shows wear or begins slipping
- The pump has operated without an adequate water supply
- The pump has ingested sand, silt or debris
- The scheduled cooling-system service interval has been reached
A worn impeller may continue rotating while delivering substantially reduced cooling-water flow.
Installation Notes
Before installation:
- Shut down the engine and isolate the starting system
- Close the raw-water seacock
- Remove the pump cover and existing sealing components
- Note the direction of the old impeller blades
- Recover all broken blade fragments from the pump and downstream cooling circuit
- Inspect the cover plate, cam, housing, shaft and key
- Lubricate the new impeller with glycerine, soapy water or an approved rubber-safe lubricant
- Align the 3/16-inch drive key carefully
- Install the supplied gasket and O-ring
- Reassemble the pump according to the Sherwood service guide
- Reopen the seacock and confirm strong cooling-water flow before operating under load
Never operate a flexible impeller pump dry.

Parts Desk Insight
The critical identifiers are the 5/8-inch keyed shaft, 3/16-inch keyway and 1-5/8-inch impeller width. The 10615K is widely used across older Sherwood belt-driven raw-water pumps, but pump-model confirmation remains more reliable than choosing by engine brand alone.
