Sierra 47-29459 Drain Screw Gasket — OMC & Mercury/Mariner Outboards
A simple part that makes a big difference at oil change time. The Sierra 47-29459 is a replacement drain screw gasket designed for use with the lower unit drain screw on OMC and Mercury/Mariner outboard motors. Sold as a 2-pack, these gaskets provide a leak-free seal at the drain plug on most lower units and seawater pumps — preventing gear lube loss and water intrusion that can lead to costly lower unit damage.
Built to meet or exceed OEM specifications. Replacing the gasket every time you change your lower unit gear lube is the right call — it's a cents-on-the-dollar insurance policy against a failed seal.

This is a consumable — always replace the drain screw gasket every time you drain and refill the lower unit gear lube. Reusing a compressed gasket is one of the most common causes of slow gear lube leaks that go unnoticed until the lower unit runs dry.
