The Sierra RS20040 is a Contura marine rotary switch with a three-position On-On-On configuration labeled 1-2-3. All three positions are maintained active states — there is no off position. This layout is the standard configuration for marine battery selector switches, where Position 1 selects Battery Bank 1, Position 2 selects Battery Bank 2, and Position 3 connects both banks simultaneously. It is also suited to any three-source selection application where one of three active states must always be engaged.
The patented mechanism translates rotary motion into linear switching action, and a secondary cam provides definitive detent positions — the switch clicks firmly into each of the three positions with no ambiguity about which bank or source is selected.
