This support bar is the right call when the original aluminum tube has corroded, bent, or the nylon end fittings have cracked and the windshield frame is no longer rigid. The pivot fittings are the key feature here — they make it possible to install the bar without perfectly aligned mounting holes, which is common on older hulls where the frame has shifted slightly.
