When deep anchorages or long overnight stays demand serious reach, 300 feet of line gives you the scope to anchor safely where shorter rodes can’t. This pre-assembled rode pairs 5/8" three-strand nylon with a 15 ft section of 5/16" galvanized chain — keeping overall weight reasonable while delivering the longest line run in the 5/8" three-strand family.
Three-strand twisted nylon’s natural elasticity absorbs shock loads at the anchor, making it a forgiving choice in choppy or wind-affected anchorages. The 5/8" x 300 ft line is hand-spliced to a 5/16" x 15 ft Grade 43 high-test ISO-calibrated hot-dip galvanized windlass chain, with a Type IV Grade A hot-dip galvanized anchor shackle pre-installed at the chain end. Reinforced PVC depth markers are pre-installed on the line so you always know your scope at a glance.

Best use case: This is the go-to rode for larger vessels that regularly anchor in deep water — 40 ft or more — where a standard 150–200 ft rode simply doesn’t provide enough scope for a safe 7:1 ratio. The 15 ft chain section keeps the total weight at ~24.8 kg, making it more manageable than longer-chain configurations while still providing enough catenary to help the anchor lie flat in moderate conditions. Best suited for vessels in the 38–55 ft range anchoring in sheltered to moderate conditions where holding ground is reliable. The short chain section means this rode performs best in good holding ground — if you regularly anchor in current, wind, or poor holding, the 5/8" x 150 ft three-strand rode with 50 ft chain provides significantly more catenary weight. As with all three-strand rodes, note that this line can twist and hockle in electric windlass applications — if your vessel has a powered windlass, the 8-plait 5/8" x 250 ft rode with 50 ft chain is the more compatible choice for similar scope. For a lighter setup with less scope, the 5/8" x 200 ft three-strand rode with 15 ft chain is the mid-range option.
