Classic Three-Strand Construction, Ready to Anchor
Three-strand twisted nylon is one of the most time-tested anchor line materials in boating — it stretches under load to absorb shock, holds knots reliably, and is easy to splice and repair. This pre-assembled rode pairs 150 feet of 1/2" three-strand nylon with 25 feet of 1/4" Grade 43 galvanized chain, giving you a complete, ready-to-deploy anchoring solution.
The 1/2" x 150 ft three-strand twill-twisted nylon line is hand-spliced to a 1/4" x 25 ft Grade 43 high-test ISO-calibrated hot-dip galvanized windlass chain. A Type IV Grade A hot-dip galvanized anchor shackle is pre-installed at the chain end, and reinforced PVC depth markers are pre-installed on the line so you always know your scope.

Three-strand nylon’s natural stretch makes it particularly forgiving in choppy anchorages where shock loads on the anchor are a concern — it acts as a built-in snubber. The 25 ft chain section is a practical middle ground: enough catenary to help the anchor set, without the added weight of a 50 ft chain run. Note that three-strand line can twist and hockle in windlass applications — if your vessel has a windlass, the 8-plait 1/2" x 200 ft rode with 50 ft chain is generally a better fit. If you prefer more chain with the same line length, the 1/2" x 150 ft three-strand rode with 50 ft chain is the heavier alternative.
