This pre-assembled anchor rode pairs 150 feet of 1/2" three-strand nylon with a full 50 feet of 1/4" Grade 43 galvanized chain — the maximum chain configuration in the 1/2" three-strand lineup. The longer chain section adds meaningful catenary weight, helping the anchor lie flat and set firmly even in wind or current.
Three-strand twisted nylon is one of the most proven anchor line materials in boating. Its natural elasticity absorbs shock loads at the anchor, it holds knots reliably, and it’s straightforward to splice and repair in the field. The 1/2" x 150 ft line is hand-spliced to a 1/4" x 50 ft Grade 43 high-test ISO-calibrated hot-dip galvanized windlass chain, with a Type IV Grade A hot-dip galvanized anchor shackle pre-installed at the chain end. Reinforced PVC depth markers are pre-installed on the line for at-a-glance scope management.

Best for mid-size vessels in the 25–38 ft range that anchor by hand or with a manual windlass — three-strand can twist and hockle in electric windlass applications, so if your vessel has a powered windlass, the 8-plait 1/2" x 200 ft rode with 50 ft chain is the more compatible choice. If you prefer a lighter setup with the same line length, the 1/2" x 150 ft three-strand rode with 25 ft chain saves roughly 7 kg.
