High tensile construction provides a meaningfully higher working load limit than standard galvanized shackles at the same pin size — worth specifying when anchoring in exposed conditions or running a permanent mooring. Always mouse (seize) the pin with stainless wire or a cable tie on permanent installations to prevent the pin backing out under cyclic loading. For the heaviest applications, step up to the 1-3/8" model; for lighter-duty use, the 1-1/8" shackle may be sufficient.
