Installation Notes
Drain or extract the engine oil according to the Volvo Penta service procedure. Remove the old filter and confirm its sealing gasket did not remain on the filter head — a double gasket will cause an oil leak. Lightly lubricate the new gasket with clean engine oil, install hand-tight then tighten as specified in the service manual, refill with the correct oil grade and quantity, and check carefully for leaks after starting. Never reuse the old gasket.
