Ritchie Navigation B-81 Voyager Bracket-Mount Compass
The Ritchie B-81 Voyager delivers premium compass performance in a compact bracket-mount package, featuring a 3" CombiDamp dial — a fluid-dampened Combi dial that combines a traditional compass rose with degree markings for easy simultaneous reading of heading and bearing, with the smooth, steady card movement that dampening provides in choppy conditions.
Built-in green NiteVu illumination keeps the dial visible after dark without washing out your night vision, and extra lubber lines make it easy to steer precise courses. Mounted on an adjustable bracket, the B-81 is easy to position for the best helm sightline and can be removed when not in use. Built on Ritchie's precision sapphire jewel and hardened steel pivot movement with DirectiveForce magnets, it is 100% repairable and backed by an exclusive 5-year warranty.
Prefer a flat card over a Combi dial? See the Ritchie B-80 Voyager — Bracket Mount, Flat Card.

Parts Desk Insights
Best Use Case: The B-81 is the right choice over the B-80 when a Combi dial is preferred — particularly for navigators who regularly take visual bearings or plot courses at the helm and want the compass rose and degree scale readable at the same time. The CombiDamp fluid dampening reduces card oscillation in choppy conditions, making it more readable than a standard undamped Combi compass. The NiteVu lighting makes it a practical choice for vessels that run at night or in low-light conditions. For a larger Combi dial in a bracket-mount format, the Helmsman HB-741 offers a 3.75" dial. For gimballed offshore performance, the SS-1002 is the step up.
