WinterProof All-Purpose Water System Antifreeze — -50°C | 9.46 L
Part / Item Number: 35-365WP | Brand: WinterProof (by Recochem) | UPC: 056438907275
WinterProof 35-365WP is a ready-to-use all-purpose water system antifreeze with BurstGuard™ -50°C (-58°F) freeze protection in a 9.46 L (2.5 US gal.) container. It is formulated to protect plumbing, waterlines, pumps, valves, and seals from freeze damage during winter storage and is safe for both plastic and metal pipes. The formula contains corrosion inhibitors and helps lubricate waterlines, pipes, and seals while the system is stored.
Important: 35-365WP is designed for water and plumbing systems only. It is not an engine antifreeze and is not intended for use in closed-loop engine cooling circuits.
Note on SKU variants: The store SKU 35-365WP-9.46L refers to manufacturer part number 35-365WP, the 9.46 L size. A separate 3.78 L version (35-364WP) is a different SKU and package size.

Intended Applications
Designed for seasonal winterization of water and plumbing systems. Suitable for:
- Marine freshwater systems — tanks, waterlines, pressure-water pumps, sinks, heads, and water heaters
- RVs and recreational vehicles
- Cottages and seasonal properties
- Swimming pools
- Septic systems
- Other water-supply and plumbing systems subject to seasonal freezing
Before You Use
- Drain as much water as practical from tanks, lines, pumps, and fixtures before introducing antifreeze — excess residual water dilutes the product and reduces the level of freeze protection
- Confirm compatibility with water heaters, inline filters, water-treatment equipment, UV sterilizers, and other specialty plumbing components before circulating through them
- Follow the winterization procedure specified by the equipment or vessel manufacturer
- Freezing of the antifreeze product itself can occur in very extreme cold and is considered normal; Recochem states this does not damage properly protected equipment when the product is used according to directions
When to Use Fresh Antifreeze
- Preparing the vessel or property for winter storage
- The system has been flushed at the start of the season and needs re-winterization
- Previously introduced antifreeze has been diluted by residual water
- Plumbing repairs have introduced fresh water into a protected system
- Existing winterization fluid is contaminated or the winterization status is unknown
How to Apply
- Drain freshwater tanks and plumbing components per the equipment manufacturer’s winterization procedure
- Introduce antifreeze and circulate until protected fluid reaches all faucets, pumps, valves, low points, and other areas where residual water may remain trapped
- Pay particular attention to pump housings, low runs of hose, branch lines, and any fixture supply lines that may not drain by gravity
- When returning the system to service in spring, flush the plumbing thoroughly before use per the antifreeze manufacturer’s instructions

Parts Desk Insights
Best use case: The 9.46 L size covers a complete marine freshwater system or a full RV water circuit in a single container, with enough volume to reach every pump, valve, and fixture without running short mid-job. The -50°C BurstGuard rating gives a meaningful safety margin over standard -40°C products — especially useful in Canada where temperatures can drop well below -40°C in some regions, or when some dilution from residual water in the lines is unavoidable regardless of how thoroughly the system was drained.
Common issues: The most common winterization mistake is draining the main freshwater tank and calling it done. Pumps, water heaters, foot valves, low spots, and branch lines almost always retain enough water to freeze and crack components even after the tank is empty. Circulate until you see antifreeze at every outlet — every faucet, the shower, the head, and any deck wash-down fitting. Also confirm you’re using the right product: 35-365WP is a water-system antifreeze, not a coolant. Do not use it in the engine’s closed-loop cooling circuit.
