The Xantrex Freedom SW 3024 is a heavy-duty 24-volt inverter/charger combining 3,000 watts of continuous true sine wave AC output with a 75-amp multistage battery charger. Designed for marine vessels, recreational vehicles, commercial trucks and specialty vehicles, it provides clean 120-volt AC power for demanding onboard equipment while automatically charging the battery bank whenever shore power or generator power is available.
Key Features
- Produces 3,000 watts of continuous true sine wave AC power at 40°C
- Delivers up to 6,000 watts of surge power for five seconds
- Integrated 75-amp charger for nominal 24-volt battery banks
- Generator Support Mode supplements generator output during temporary high-demand loads
- Split-phase AC input with dual AC outputs
- Two 30-amp transfer-relay legs
- Transfers between external AC and inverter power in less than 20 milliseconds
- Xanbus-enabled for system monitoring, configuration and accessory integration
- Supports series stacking for compatible higher-capacity system designs
- Includes a remote battery-temperature sensor for compensated charging
Application Compatibility
The Freedom SW 3024 is designed for higher-demand 24-volt electrical systems, including:
- Recreational and commercial marine vessels
- Motor yachts and larger cruising boats
- Heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles
- Mobile service and work vehicles
- Specialty and emergency vehicles
- Off-grid systems using 24-volt battery banks
- Installations powering air conditioners, refrigerators, pumps and other motor-driven equipment
The long-duration surge capability is particularly useful for inductive loads that require substantially more power during startup than during normal operation.

Certification and Marine Installation Notice
The Freedom SW 3024 is ETL listed to CSA 107.1, UL 458 and the UL 458 Marine Supplement. Xantrex specifies drip shield part number 808-9004 when UL 458 Marine Supplement compliance is required.
The unit is identified for marine installations following applicable ABYC E-11, A-31 and A-32 requirements. It also meets FCC Part 15 Subpart B Class B and Canadian ICES-3 Class B electromagnetic-compatibility requirements.
Fitment Notice
The Freedom SW 3024 is designed exclusively for a nominal 24-volt battery bank and must not be connected to a 12-volt system. Confirm the vessel’s battery voltage, shore-power arrangement, generator capacity, AC panel configuration and expected continuous and startup loads before ordering.
A compatible Xanbus System Control Panel is required to configure advanced settings and custom battery profiles. Lithium iron phosphate charging must be configured through the custom battery setting rather than assumed from the default profile.
When This Product Needs Replacement
Inspect or replace the inverter/charger if it repeatedly shuts down under previously supported loads, no longer transfers correctly between shore or generator power and inverter operation, fails to maintain its programmed charging profile or develops recurring overload, low-voltage, over-temperature or communication faults.
Before replacing the unit, test the battery bank, DC conductors, cable connections, incoming AC supply, transfer wiring and external circuit protection. Battery deterioration or excessive DC voltage drop can produce symptoms similar to inverter failure.
Installation Notes
Install the Freedom SW 3024 in a dry, ventilated location protected from water, excessive heat, battery gases and fuel vapours. Use properly sized marine-grade DC conductors, correctly rated battery-bank protection and an accessible DC disconnect.
The unit weighs more than 69 pounds and must be secured to a structure capable of supporting its weight under vessel movement and vibration. Follow the Xantrex mounting template and installation guide for orientation, clearances, grounding, AC wiring and circuit protection.
Use drip shield 808-9004 where required for marine certification. Install the included remote battery-temperature sensor directly at the battery bank for accurate temperature-compensated charging.

Parts Desk Insight
The Freedom SW 3024 is intended for larger 24-volt systems where high startup loads, generator support and a substantial onboard charger are required. It should not be confused with the Freedom SW 3012, which provides similar inverter output but operates from a 12-volt battery bank and uses a higher-amperage 150-amp charger. The Xanbus System Control Panel (809-0921) is required to access advanced configuration including custom lithium battery profiles.
