The Shakespeare PL259CPG is a gold-plated, solderless PL-259 male connector designed for terminating RG-58 A/U and RG-8/X coaxial cable on marine VHF antenna installations. The solderless design means a clean, reliable termination can be achieved in the field or at the dock without specialised tools — just the cable, the connector, and a wrench.
Gold plating on the contact surfaces resists oxidation and salt air corrosion, maintaining a low-resistance, low-loss connection over the life of the installation. The PL-259 is the standard male connector used on virtually all marine VHF antenna cables and radio SO-239 input jacks, making this a universal fit across brands and models.
