Ancor NMEA 2000 Drop Cable – 3.3 ft (1 m) | Part No. 270301
Connect your NMEA 2000 instruments to the network backbone with confidence. This 3.3 ft (1 m) drop cable is the most versatile length in the Ancor N2K lineup — long enough to reach devices mounted away from the tee connector, yet flexible enough to route cleanly behind panels, under helm consoles, and through tight cable runs. The thinner, more pliable construction compared to backbone cable makes installation straightforward even in congested wiring spaces.

System & Network Notes
This cable connects between a tee connector and a single NMEA 2000 device. It is not a backbone cable and should not be used to extend the main trunk. Every NMEA 2000 network requires a male and female terminator at each end of the backbone — see the Female Terminator (270105) and Male Terminator (270106). Tee connectors are sold separately.

Technical FAQ
What’s the difference between a drop cable and a backbone cable?
Backbone cable is heavier gauge and forms the main trunk of the network. Drop cables are thinner and more flexible, designed to branch off a tee connector to a single device. Never use a drop cable as backbone.
How many drop cables can I have on one network?
NMEA 2000 networks support up to 50 nodes. Each device connected via a drop cable counts as one node.
Is this cable compatible with Garmin, Lowrance, Simrad, and Raymarine?
Yes — NMEA 2000 is an open standard. This cable uses standard Micro-C connectors compatible with all major marine electronics brands.
Parts Desk Insights
Best use case: The 3.3 ft (1 m) drop is the most commonly requested length — it handles the majority of helm and console installations where the device is mounted a short distance from the tee. If your instrument is very close to the tee (within arm’s reach), the 1.6 ft drop (270300) keeps things tidy. Common customer question: “Do I need a starter kit or just cables?” — if you’re adding a single device to an existing network, this drop cable and a tee connector are all you need. If you’re building from scratch, start with the Single Device Starter Kit (270201) or Dual Device Starter Kit (270202) which include terminators and tees.
