The long straight inlet is the right choice when your livewell or baitwell has enough depth below the pump mount to accommodate the extended inlet tube — the longer profile draws water from deeper in the tank, which can improve flow consistency when water levels drop. It’s a common fit for larger built-in livewells on centre consoles and bay boats. If your installation has limited clearance below the mount, the short straight inlet is a better fit: see the Attwood 56634 Short Straight Inlet or the Attwood 56534 Short Straight Inlet.
