Mercury Zeus starboard pod drive for diesel-powered twin-pod vessel installations. This is the starboard (right-hand) pod and pairs with the port pod 5-P4DY54LH to form a complete twin-Zeus propulsion system. System Overview
Zeus pod drives use steerable underwater gearcases with contra-rotating propeller sets. Propeller families (H-Series, M-Series, Z-Series) are selected based on engine output and target performance. Zeus systems also integrate with Mercury’s joystick piloting and electronic vessel-control systems. In a twin-pod installation, the port and starboard pods must be matched in size, ratio, and propeller configuration.

Individual Zeus drivetrain components are also separately serviceable, including seals, shafts, bearings, steering components, propellers, and propeller hardware. If only a specific component needs replacement, identify the individual part number from the Zeus parts diagram for your pod serial number rather than replacing the complete assembly.
When Replacement Is Needed
Complete pod replacement may be required after significant gearcase or housing damage, major internal drivetrain failure, severe impact damage, excessive corrosion, or when rebuilding the existing pod is no longer practical or cost-effective.
