The most important pre-sale question for this assembly is confirming the customer has a low-pressure Mercury fuel system. Low-pressure systems are found on carbureted Mercury outboards and older EFI models. High-pressure systems (OptiMax, Verado, and newer direct-injection engines) require a different assembly entirely — this one is not compatible. If the customer is unsure, ask them to check the engine’s service manual or look for a fuel pressure specification.
