Many surveyors and experienced owners prefer a white bilge specifically because any contamination or moisture shows up immediately against the light surface. A coated bilge is also dramatically easier to clean than bare fiberglass, as oil and sludge sit on top of the coating rather than soaking into the substrate. Apply when the bilge is clean and dry for best adhesion.
