Important: Jabsco 14750-0001 shares the same Profile B dimensions but uses neoprene compound. Choose 14750-0003-P specifically when the pump handles oil, diesel fuel, or petroleum-contaminated water. Do not substitute neoprene for nitrile in oil-service applications.
Service Interval
Jabsco recommends inspecting and replacing flexible impellers at least annually, or sooner under heavy-duty use. Replace when any of the following are observed:
- Reduced or lost fluid-transfer performance
- Pump is slow to prime or fails to prime
- Blades cracked, hardened, permanently bent, or torn
- Blade tip material missing — inspect pump bore and downstream hoses for fragments
- Brass hub loose on the shaft
- Pump has run dry
- Equipment stored for an extended period without use
Preventive replacement is strongly recommended. A failed impeller blade in an oil-changer circuit can contaminate the drain pan hose and fittings.
Installation Notes
- Disconnect power to the pump before beginning service
- Remove the pump cover plate and old gasket or O-ring
- Grip the impeller hub firmly with an impeller puller or channel-lock pliers to extract — do not pry against the pump face
- Inspect the pump bore, cam surface, shaft, and cover plate for scoring or wear
- Remove all blade fragments from the pump body and connected hoses
- Apply the included glycerin lubricant to the new impeller blades and bore
- Align the single-flat brass hub to the drive shaft and press the impeller fully into the bore
- Install the replacement gasket and O-ring from the kit
- Reassemble the pump cover and verify leak-free, priming operation before returning to service
