Product Description
The Jabsco 17935-0001-P is a large 12-blade neoprene flexible impeller kit for heavy-duty marine engine-cooling, water-transfer, bilge and general-purpose bronze pumps. It features a brass spline-drive hub and measures approximately 3-3/4 inches in diameter by 2-1/2 inches wide.

Do not confuse this impeller with Jabsco 17936-0001-P. Both have a 3-3/4-inch diameter and 1-inch spline hub, but the 17935 is 2-1/2 inches wide, while the 17936 is 3-1/2 inches wide.
When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace the impeller when:
- Raw-water or exhaust-water flow decreases
- Engine temperature begins rising
- The pump becomes difficult to prime
- Blades become cracked, hardened or permanently curved
- Blade tips are torn or missing
- The brass spline hub becomes loose or damaged
- The pump has operated without an adequate water supply
- Scheduled annual cooling-system service is due
Jabsco recommends preventive replacement at least annually, or sooner according to engine duty and operating conditions.
Installation Notes
- Stop the engine and isolate the starting circuit.
- Close the raw-water intake seacock.
- Remove the pump end cover and old sealing components.
- Use an appropriate impeller-removal tool or suitable pliers to grip the hub.
- Do not pry against the pump housing with a screwdriver.
- Retrieve missing blade fragments from hoses, coolers and heat exchangers.
- Inspect the pump bore, cam, shaft, splines and cover plate.
- Lubricate the new impeller before installation.
- Carefully align the brass spline hub with the pump shaft.
- Install the supplied gasket and spline seal.
- Reopen the seacock and confirm strong water flow immediately after startup.
Lubricating the impeller makes installation easier and protects the blades during initial priming.
