The Jabsco 1673-1001 is a self-priming, pulley-driven flexible-impeller pump built for continuous raw-water service in demanding marine environments. Its bronze body and stainless steel shaft resist corrosion in salt water, while permanently lubricated ball bearings reduce maintenance requirements. Installation Notes
- Ensure belt tension is correctly set before operation ā over-tensioning accelerates bearing wear.
- Close the raw-water seacock before servicing the impeller or pump.
- Do not run the pump dry; neoprene impellers can overheat rapidly without water flow.
- Retrieve any missing impeller blade fragments from downstream hoses, coolers and heat exchangers during service.
- Inspect the pump bore, cam and cover plate at each impeller change.
