When This Part Needs Replacement

Replace the impeller when:

Installation Notes

• Stop the engine and isolate the starting circuit.
• Close the raw-water intake seacock.
• Remove the pump end cover and old sealing component.
• Pull the impeller using a proper impeller-removal tool or suitable pliers gripping the hub.
• Do not pry against the pump housing with a screwdriver.
• Retrieve any missing vane fragments from hoses, coolers and heat exchangers.
• Inspect the pump bore, cam, cover plate, shaft and drive key.
• Lubricate the replacement impeller before installation.
• Align the hub keyway with the pump-shaft key.
• Fit the supplied sealing component and reinstall the cover.
• Reopen the seacock and confirm strong water flow immediately after startup.

Avoid operating a neoprene flexible-impeller pump without water.
