Quicksilver Anodic Plate 76214Q5 β Aluminum | Mercury, Mariner & MerCruiser Drives
Shield your Mercury, Mariner, or MerCruiser drive from galvanic corrosion with this OEM Quicksilver aluminum anodic plate. Designed to sacrifice itself in place of your driveβs aluminum and metal components, it provides targeted corrosion protection for the transom plate and drive housing in saltwater and brackish water environments.
This is the correct OEM replacement anodic plate for a wide range of Mercury and Mariner outboards from 35β300 HP, Force 90 and 120 HP engines (1995 and newer), and MerCruiser Alpha One Gen II and Bravo I, II, III, X, XR, and XZ sterndrive units. Aluminum construction is the preferred material for saltwater use, offering superior performance over zinc in most marine environments.

Best Use Case
Replace this anodic plate whenever it has been reduced to approximately 50% of its original size, or at least once per season in saltwater environments. Inspect at every haul-out. Do not paint over the anode β it must remain bare metal to function. This plate protects the transom and drive housing area; other locations on the drive and lower unit require their own dedicated anodes for complete protection.
Parts Desk Insights
The anodic plate is one of the most commonly missed anode locations on MerCruiser sterndrive boats β customers often replace the trim tab anode but overlook the transom plate. When a customer is servicing their drive anodes, confirm theyβre replacing all locations: transom plate, trim tab, and any drive-specific anodes. Aluminum is correct for saltwater; if a customer asks about zinc, confirm their operating environment first. For the power trim anode on compatible Mercury outboards, see the Quicksilver Power Trim Anode 818298Q1. For other Mercury/MerCruiser anode needs, see the Mercury MerCruiser Anode and Mercury Anode.
