The RAM RAP-400-202 is a complete mounting kit built around the Small Tough-Claw™ base — RAM’s tool-less clamp that grips round, square, and odd-shaped rails and bars without drilling or permanent installation. It includes the double socket arm and a round base adapter with the universal AMPS hole pattern, giving you a complete, ready-to-mount solution that connects to a wide range of RAM and third-party cradles and accessories.
The 1.5" rubber ball and socket system provides adjustment at both ends of the double socket arm, allowing you to dial in the exact viewing angle for your device. The Tough-Claw™ installs and removes in seconds — ideal for boaters who want to move the mount between vessels, locations, or seasons without leaving hardware behind.

The AMPS hole pattern on the round base adapter is the universal standard used by most RAM cradles and many third-party device holders — this is the key selling point for customers who already have a cradle and just need a new base/arm. The Tough-Claw™ clamping range of 0.625"–1.5" covers most standard marine rails; for larger tubes, the Medium Tough-Claw is the correct fit. The flat surface clamping range (0"–1.14") means it can also grip flat surfaces like gunwales and console lips, which is a less obvious but useful application.
