The Scepter 09476 locks into the engine’s fuel inlet with a twist-and-lock bayonet mechanism and seals with an o-ring for a secure, fuel-tight connection — built to OEM specifications for a precise, reliable fit.

Before ordering, confirm the customer has a bayonet-type Mercury fuel system — not a clip-type. The bayonet and clip systems use entirely different fittings and are not interchangeable. The 09476 is the engine-side bayonet; the tank-side match is the Scepter 07497 Metal Tank Bayonet. If the customer has a clip-type system instead, refer them to the Scepter 05791 Mercury Engine Clip Fitting for the engine side, and the Scepter 05793 or 05837 for the tank side. The 09476 is notably heavier (240g) than clip-type fittings — if a customer questions the weight, that’s normal for the bayonet assembly. Mercury fittings are not interchangeable with Yamaha or BRP connectors.
