Part Number: 50-21019 Β |Β SKU: 50-21019 Β |Β UPC: 719249210193
The Seachoice 50-21019 is a 20-micron full-flow spin-on oil filter for selected Suzuki and Johnson/Evinrude 4-stroke outboard engines. It crosses directly to Sierra 18-7897, Suzuki 16510-82703, and Johnson/Evinrude OEM filter numbers. Built with high-efficiency cellulose filter media, an epoxy-coated corrosion-resistant canister, reinforced body construction, heavy-duty end-cap seals, and an anti-drain-back valve, it meets or exceeds original equipment filtration requirements.

Fitment Note: Suzuki and Johnson/Evinrude 4-stroke engines use multiple oil filter configurations across different model families and production years. Always confirm your engine model, horsepower, model year, and existing filter part number before ordering. Matching a cross-reference number is more reliable than ordering by appearance or physical size.
Service Interval
Replace at every scheduled engine oil service. Follow the outboard manufacturerβs recommended interval for your specific engine model β typically every 100 hours or once per season, whichever comes first.
Installation Notes
- Remove the old filter and confirm the old gasket has come away with it β a retained gasket will cause an oil leak
- Clean the filter mounting surface
- Lightly coat the new filter gasket with fresh engine oil before threading it on
- Tighten by hand plus ΒΎ turn, or per engine manufacturer specification β do not over-tighten
- Run the engine and inspect for leaks before returning to service

Parts Desk Insights
Best Use Case: Routine oil and filter changes on Suzuki DF115 and DF140 4-stroke outboards β one of the most commonly serviced Suzuki outboard families β and on Johnson/Evinrude 4-stroke EFI outboards in the 90β140 HP range. Suzuki DF-series engines are widely used on aluminum fishing boats and mid-size runabouts, making this a practical service item for shops and customers on those platforms.
Common Issues: Suzuki and Johnson/Evinrude both use multiple filter configurations across their 4-stroke lineups, and filters often look similar. The most reliable fitment confirmation is matching Suzuki 16510-82703, Sierra 18-7897, or Johnson/Evinrude 5033919 / 778887 against what is currently on the engine. As with all spin-on filters, remind customers to confirm the old gasket came off with the old filter β leaving the old gasket on the mount is a common cause of oil leaks after service.
