The Solas Rubex L4 is a squeeze-cast aluminum 4-blade propeller built around the Rubex interchangeable hub system. The 4-blade design delivers excellent acceleration, strong midrange performance, and improved stern lift and handling compared to a 3-blade prop of the same pitch — making it a popular upgrade for pontoons, heavier fishing boats, and any application where smooth, controlled performance matters more than outright top speed.
The 14.25" x 19" pitch sits in the mid-to-upper range of the L4 line, offering a balance of midrange pull and top-end capability. The Rubex interchangeable hub system means that if the blades are damaged, you only replace the housing — not the entire propeller assembly — keeping long-term ownership costs low.

The Rubex L4 4-blade is the right recommendation when a customer wants better hole shot, smoother ride, or improved stern lift compared to their current 3-blade setup — without sacrificing too much top speed. The 19" pitch is a good fit for mid-to-high horsepower outboards on lighter hulls where the engine can comfortably reach WOT RPM. If the engine is struggling to reach WOT with this prop, step down to the 14.5" x 17" or 14.75" x 15". If the customer wants more top end and the engine has headroom, the 14" x 21" is the next step up. Always confirm the correct RBX hub kit for the engine before completing the sale — the RBX-102B and RBX-104B are the most common E-Series options.
