The Hustler 9x9 is a 3-blade aluminum propeller engineered for small outboard engines in the 6–20 hp range with 2.5" gearcases. It brings stainless steel blade geometry and squeeze-cast construction to an aluminum price point — delivering performance and durability well above what traditional die-cast aluminum props offer.
Blade geometry is derived directly from stainless steel designs, and the exclusive squeeze-casting process produces a denser, stiffer blade with less flex under load. The result is a more efficient prop that holds its shape, resists damage, and performs consistently season after season. A five-step Ultracoat™ powder-coated finish provides corrosion protection and a high-gloss appearance that outlasts standard painted finishes.

Best Use Case: Ideal for small tiller-steer outboards on jon boats, inflatables, dinghies, and small aluminum fishing boats where a reliable, affordable prop is the priority. The 9" pitch is well-suited to lighter, slower-speed applications — if the engine is consistently hitting the top of its WOT RPM range, consider stepping up to the Hustler 9x10 for a bit more top-end speed.
Aluminum vs. Stainless: For customers asking about upgrading to stainless, the performance gap at this horsepower range is minimal (typically 0.5–1 mph). The Hustler aluminum is an excellent value and holds up well in this application — stainless is harder to justify at 6–20 hp unless the customer is frequently striking debris.
Hub Kit Note: This prop uses 200 Series hub kits only — not compatible with 500 or 700 Series kits. Confirm the correct kit number from the application chart. The Hub Kit 208 covers many common 2.5" gearcase applications.
