The Solas Rubex L4 is a squeeze-cast aluminum 4-blade propeller built around the Rubex interchangeable hub system. The 4-blade design delivers superior mid-range performance, improved stern lift, and better handling compared to a 3-blade prop of the same pitch — making it an excellent choice for pontoons, heavier hulls, and applications where smooth, controlled performance matters as much as top speed.
The 14.5" x 17" pitch is a mid-range option in the L4 lineup, balancing acceleration, mid-range pull, and top-end capability. The Rubex system separates the propeller housing from the hub, so if the blades are damaged, you only replace the housing — not the entire propeller assembly.

The Rubex L4 is the right recommendation when a customer wants the benefits of a 4-blade prop — better stern lift, smoother mid-range, and improved handling — without stepping up to stainless steel. It’s particularly well-suited for pontoons, tri-toons, and heavier fishing platforms where the 4-blade’s extra blade area improves low-speed control and reduces porpoising. The 17" pitch is a solid mid-range starting point; if the engine is over-revving at WOT, step up to the 19" pitch. If it’s under-revving or the customer needs more acceleration, step down to the 15" pitch. Always confirm the correct RBX hub kit for the engine before completing the sale — the RBX-102B and RBX-104B are the most common E-Series options. If a customer comes in after a prop strike, check whether the hub is intact — if so, they only need a replacement housing.
