PSS Packless Shaft Seal – 7/8" Shaft x 1-1/2" Stern Tube
The PSS (Packless Sealing System) is a mechanical face seal designed to permanently replace the traditional packing gland on inboard and inboard/outboard vessels. Installed as standard equipment by boat builders and recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard, the PSS delivers completely dripless shaft sealing with zero ongoing packing adjustments.
The rotating carbon face rides against a stainless steel rotor, creating a positive seal that keeps bilges dry, protects the shaft from scoring, and eliminates the corrosion and mess associated with conventional stuffing boxes.
