Arco DC007 Distributor Cap – GM V8 Module-in-Cap Ignition (Non-MPI)
Restore reliable spark distribution to your GM V8 inboard with this direct-fit replacement distributor cap from Arco. The DC007 is designed for GM-style “Module in Cap” distributors on MerCruiser, Indmar, and Crusader V8 engines — where the ignition control module is integrated directly into the distributor cap. This cap covers the broad range of non-MPI V8 applications using this distributor style. A cracked, carbon-tracked, or corroded cap is a common cause of hard starting, misfires, and rough idle on these engines.
Important fitment note: The DC007 is not compatible with MPI engines equipped with the ECM 555 — those applications require the Arco DC003.

The DC007 covers the GM V8 Module-in-Cap distributor in non-MPI applications — a common configuration in MerCruiser, Indmar, and Crusader V8 inboards from the late 1980s through the early 2000s. The most important fitment check is confirming whether your engine is MPI with ECM 555: if it is, the DC007 will not fit and you need the DC003 instead. If you’re unsure, look for the ECM 555 label on the engine’s electronic control module or check the Mercury parts diagram by serial number. Always replace the rotor at the same time — caps and rotors wear together and should be serviced as a pair.
