The 90° inlet is the right choice when your pump mount location doesn’t allow a straight inlet to point downward into the water — for example, when the pump is mounted on a side wall of the livewell rather than the floor or lid, or when plumbing constraints require the inlet to turn before entering the tank. The right-angle profile keeps the inlet submerged and drawing water even in awkward mounting positions where a straight inlet would be out of the water or blocked. If your installation allows a straight inlet, the Attwood 56634 Short Straight Inlet and Attwood 56604 Long Straight Inlet are available in this same MK 2 platform.
