Martyr CMX05A Zinc Streamline Shaft Anode β 1-1/4" Extended Heavy
The CMX05A is the extended heavy version of the standard 1-1/4" zinc streamline shaft anode β same shaft diameter and Allen head fastener, but with significantly more sacrificial mass. The extra material extends the service life between haulouts, making it the right choice for vessels that stay in the water for extended periods, operate in high-current or high-fouling environments, or simply need more protection than a standard anode can provide over a full season.
Compatible Applications
- 1-1/4" (32mm) diameter prop shafts
- Saltwater use
- Inboard and inboard/outboard (I/O) vessels
- Vessels with extended in-water periods between haulouts
- High-current or high-galvanic-activity marina environments
- Replaces OEM shaft anodes on standard 1-1/4" shaft configurations where additional mass is required

Parts Desk Insights
The CMX05A is the right choice when a standard CMX05 isnβt lasting a full season. If youβre finding your shaft anode more than 50% consumed at haulout, or if your vessel lives in a slip year-round, the extended heavy version gives you the extra mass to stay protected between service visits without changing anything else about the installation. It fits the same 1-1/4" shaft bore and uses the same Allen head fastener β itβs a direct drop-in upgrade.
High-galvanic marinas β where shore power, mixed metals, and stray current are common β are the most frequent reason customers step up from the standard to the extended heavy. If youβre unsure which version is right for your situation, the rule of thumb is: if your standard anode is gone before your next haulout, go extended heavy.
