The SeaStar HS5147 is the correct service kit for older-style BayStar hydraulic steering helms — specifically the HH4015 and HH4016 models. Unlike a standard seal-only kit, the HS5147 includes a replacement plastic housing, making it a more complete service solution for helms where the housing has degraded alongside the seals.
If your older BayStar helm is weeping hydraulic fluid, feeling spongy, or has developed play in the steering, this kit addresses the root cause at the helm body rather than requiring a full helm replacement.
