WIX Oil Filter 51361 β Nissan, Infiniti, Kubota & Marine
The WIX 51361 is a full-flow spin-on engine oil filter designed for select Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Mercury, and industrial equipment applications. Its enhanced-cellulose filtration media captures abrasive contaminants while maintaining dependable oil flow through the engineβs lubrication system.
The filter measures approximately 4.11 inches high by 3.23 inches in diameter and uses a 3/4"-16 mounting thread. It includes an anti-drainback valve to help retain oil in the filter when the engine is shut down. Note: this filter has no internal bypass valve β confirm this matches your engineβs filter-head specification before ordering.

Fitment Notice
Confirm the number printed on the existing filter or verify the engine model, serial number, and oil filter head specification before ordering. The 3/4"-16 mounting thread is used by many different filters β a filter that threads onto the engine may still have the wrong height, gasket dimensions, flow capacity, anti-drainback arrangement, or bypass-valve configuration. For marinized or industrial engine installations, match the existing filter number rather than relying only on the base automotive engine family.
When to Replace
Replace the oil filter whenever the engine oil is changed or at the interval specified by the engine or equipment manufacturer. Earlier replacement may be appropriate under extended low-speed or idling conditions, heavy continuous loads, dirty or dusty environments, frequent short operating cycles, fuel, coolant or moisture contamination, long periods of seasonal storage, or following internal engine repairs. Replace the filter immediately if its housing is dented, heavily corroded, or leaking.
Installation Notes
Remove the old filter and confirm its sealing gasket has not remained on the mounting surface. Clean the filter head and inspect for damage, corrosion, or accumulated gasket material. Lightly coat the new gasket with clean engine oil and install by hand to the manufacturerβs tightening specification β do not overtighten. After installation: refill with the correct grade and quantity of oil, start the engine and verify normal oil pressure, inspect for leakage, shut down and allow oil to settle, then recheck and correct the oil level.

Parts Desk Insights
The WIX 51361 looks similar to several common 3/4"-16 filters, but this model has no internal bypass valve β an important distinction. Installing a no-bypass filter on an engine that requires one can result in oil starvation if the filter becomes restricted. Matching the old filter number and filter-head requirements is more reliable than choosing by thread size or outside appearance.
