The Xantrex Freedom XC 2000 combines a 2,000-watt true sine wave inverter, an 80-amp multistage battery charger and a 30-amp automatic transfer relay in one compact unit. Designed for 12-volt marine, RV and commercial vehicle electrical systems, it supplies clean AC power for sensitive electronics and motor-driven appliances while automatically charging the house battery bank whenever shore power or another approved AC source is available.

Certification and Marine Installation Notice
The Freedom XC 2000 is ETL listed to CSA 107.1, UL 458 and the UL 458 Marine Supplement. Xantrex specifies drip shield part number 808-1050 for installations requiring UL 458 Marine Supplement compliance. The unit is also identified for installations following applicable ABYC E-11 and A-31 requirements.
Fitment Notice
Confirm that the installation uses a 12-volt battery bank. Xantrex also produces a 24-volt Freedom XC 2000 under a different part number, so system voltage must be verified before ordering.
At full inverter output, the 12-volt model can draw approximately 192 amps. The battery bank, conductors, fuse, disconnect and charging sources must therefore be sized for the expected continuous and surge loads. Also confirm available mounting clearance, ventilation and the rating of the incoming shore-power circuit.
When This Product Needs Replacement
Inspect or replace the inverter/charger if it repeatedly shuts down under loads it previously supported, no longer transfers correctly between external AC and inverter power, fails to maintain its programmed charging profile or develops recurring overload, low-voltage, over-temperature or communication faults.
Before replacing the unit, test the battery bank, DC cable voltage drop, shore-power input and external overcurrent protection. Weak batteries or undersized DC conductors can produce symptoms similar to inverter failure.
Installation Notes
Install the Freedom XC in a dry, ventilated location protected from water, fuel vapours and excessive heat. Use correctly sized marine-grade DC conductors, a properly rated battery fuse and an accessible battery disconnect. Keep DC cable runs as short as practical and follow the Xantrex installation guide for mounting orientation, grounding, ventilation clearance and AC wiring.
The 808-1050 drip shield is required when the installation must comply with the UL 458 Marine Supplement.

Parts Desk Insight
The Freedom XC 2000 should not be confused with the Freedom XC PRO 2000 (818-2010), which carries a higher-capacity 100-amp charger. If a smaller unit is sufficient, the Freedom XC 1000W (817-1050) is also available. Confirm the exact model whenever replacing an existing Xantrex unit.
