Marine Installation Notice
The standard 818-3010 Freedom XC Pro 3000 is the hardwire model. Xantrex also offers the Freedom XC Pro Marine 3000 under part number 818-3015, which includes a built-in Micro-C NMEA 2000 connector. Confirm whether your installation requires the standard 818-3010 or the NMEA 2000 marine version before ordering.
For marine UL458 Marine Supplement installations, verify the required drip shield and installation accessories for your vessel configuration. Installation should be performed by a qualified marine or electrical technician following applicable ABYC requirements, battery manufacturer requirements, and vessel AC/DC wiring standards.
Battery Compatibility
This inverter/charger supports configurable charging profiles for:
- Flooded lead-acid batteries
- AGM batteries
- Gel batteries (when programmed correctly)
- Lithium-ion / LiFePO4 battery systems (where the charging profile and BMS are compatible)
Always confirm charge voltage, charge current, battery temperature requirements, and battery manufacturer settings before commissioning.
When to Replace Your Inverter/Charger
Replace if the unit no longer powers AC loads, fails to charge the battery bank, trips repeatedly under normal load, shows unresolvable fault codes, has damaged terminals, overheats, or has suffered water intrusion, corrosion, reverse polarity damage, or electrical failure. Replacement may also be appropriate when upgrading to lithium batteries, increasing AC load capacity, or modernizing an older onboard power system.

Parts Desk Insights
The key checks are system voltage (12V only for this model), battery type and chemistry, AC load demand, charger amperage requirements, and whether the installation needs the standard 818-3010 or the NMEA 2000 marine version 818-3015. This is a high-output unit — correct DC cable sizing, overcurrent protection, ventilation clearance, and battery programming are critical. Customers upgrading from an older inverter/charger should verify their existing DC cable gauge can handle 150A charge current before recommending this unit.
