Raymarine A06032 SeaTalkNG Blanking Plug
The Raymarine A06032 is a SeaTalkNG blanking plug — a protective cap that seals unused spur ports on SeaTalkNG T-piece connectors. Any open spur port on a T-piece that is not connected to a device or spur cable must be capped with a blanking plug to prevent moisture ingress, salt contamination, and corrosion of the connector contacts. The A06032 is the OEM Raymarine blanking plug for SeaTalkNG spur ports.
Blanking plugs are a standard requirement in any SeaTalkNG installation: if you install a T-piece with the intention of connecting an additional device later, cap the unused spur port with an A06032 until the device is added. Uncapped spur ports in marine environments can corrode quickly and may cause intermittent network faults.
Key Features
- Seals unused SeaTalkNG spur ports on T-piece connectors (white spur port)
- Protects connector contacts from moisture, salt spray, and debris
- OEM Raymarine SeaTalkNG blanking plug — correct fit for SeaTalkNG T-piece spur ports
- Locking engagement — seats securely in the spur port without tools
- Suitable for permanent capping of unused spur ports or temporary protection during phased installation
Specifications
- Part Number: A06032
- Type: SeaTalkNG spur port blanking plug / connector cap
- Compatible Port: SeaTalkNG T-piece white spur port (A06028 and compatible T-pieces)
- Weight: approx. 15 g (0.5 oz)
Compatible Applications
- Sealing unused spur ports on Raymarine A06028 SeaTalkNG T-piece connectors
- Any SeaTalkNG T-piece installation where a spur port is not immediately connected to a device
- Phased installations where additional devices will be added to the network at a later date
- Replacing missing or damaged blanking plugs on existing SeaTalkNG T-pieces
- Backbone kits where T-pieces are installed with spare spur capacity
Installation Notes
- Insert the A06032 into the white spur port on the SeaTalkNG T-piece and twist to lock — the same engagement method as a spur cable connector
- Install a blanking plug in every spur port that does not have a device or spur cable connected
- Inspect blanking plugs annually and replace if the locking tab is damaged or the plug no longer seats firmly
- When adding a device to a previously capped spur port, remove the blanking plug and retain it for reuse on another port
Technical FAQ
- Do I really need to cap unused spur ports? Yes. Open SeaTalkNG connector ports in the marine environment will corrode and can introduce moisture into the connector housing. Corrosion on the connector contacts can cause intermittent network faults that are difficult to diagnose. Blanking plugs are inexpensive insurance against a common source of network problems.
- How many blanking plugs do I need? One per unused spur port across your installation. If you are installing T-pieces with spare capacity for future devices, order one A06032 per unused spur port at the time of the network build.
- Does the A06032 fit backbone ports? No. The A06032 is designed for the white spur port only. The two blue backbone ports on a T-piece use terminator plugs (at the ends of the backbone) or backbone cable — they are not capped with blanking plugs mid-network.
- Is the A06032 included in backbone kits? Blanking plugs are not always included in backbone starter kits. Check the kit contents of the A25062 SeaTalkNG Backbone Kit and order additional A06032 plugs if your installation will have unused spur ports.

Parts Desk Insights
Best Use Case: The A06032 is a low-cost accessory that is easy to overlook when building or ordering a SeaTalkNG network — but every unused spur port needs one. Order a small quantity alongside any T-piece or backbone kit purchase, particularly for phased installations where some T-pieces are being installed now with spare capacity for devices being added later. A few blanking plugs included in the initial order prevents an avoidable follow-up order before the installation is complete.
Common Issues: Intermittent network faults and device dropouts on an otherwise correctly wired SeaTalkNG system are frequently traced back to corroded connector contacts on an uncapped spur port. If a customer reports unexplained network instability after a period of service, inspecting all T-piece spur ports for missing or damaged blanking plugs is an early diagnostic step. Blanking plugs can also be inadvertently removed during maintenance and not replaced — a visual check of all T-pieces is worthwhile any time the network is accessed.
