Raymarine A06033 is a 400mm SeaTalkng backbone cable for building or extending a SeaTalkng marine instrument network. SeaTalkng backbone cables carry both data and 12V power along the main network run, linking SeaTalkng instruments, sensors, and autopilots through T-piece spur connections. The 400mm / 1.3 ft length is suited for tight-clearance backbone sections where a longer cable run would be too difficult to route — such as between a junction block and a nearby terminator, or between two closely positioned devices in a console or electronics bay.

SeaTalkng Network Overview

SeaTalkng is Raymarine’s proprietary marine instrument network, physically and electrically compatible with NMEA 2000. The network consists of a backbone cable run (carrying data and power) with spur connections branching off to each connected device. Backbone cables have 5-pin circular connectors that daisy-chain along the network; spur cables have a smaller 5-pin circular connector on the device end. Terminators must be installed at both ends of the backbone for correct operation.

What is the difference between a backbone cable and a spur cable? The backbone cable forms the main network run and carries both data and power between backbone components. Spur cables are shorter drop cables that branch off the backbone via T-pieces to connect individual instruments and sensors. The A06033 is a backbone cable, not a spur.

Is SeaTalkng compatible with NMEA 2000? Yes — SeaTalkng is electrically and physically compatible with NMEA 2000 (DeviceNet) but uses Raymarine’s proprietary circular connectors. The A06076 SeaTalkng to DeviceNet Adaptor Cable is used when connecting SeaTalkng and standard NMEA 2000 (Micro-C) devices.
