When to Replace
Replace the oil filter at every oil change or at the interval specified by Yanmar for your engine — typically every 200–250 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Earlier replacement may be appropriate under heavy loads, extended low-speed operation, fuel or coolant contamination, or following internal engine repairs. Replace immediately if the filter housing is dented, corroded, or leaking.
Installation Notes
Remove the old filter and confirm its sealing gasket has not remained on the mounting surface. Clean the filter head and lightly coat the new gasket with clean engine oil. Install by hand to the engine manufacturer’s tightening specification — do not overtighten. After installation: refill with the specified oil, start the engine and verify normal oil pressure, inspect for leakage, shut down and allow oil to settle, then recheck and correct the oil level.
