The GROCO ARG-500S is a compact bronze raw-water strainer designed for 1/2 in. pipe or hose connections. It brings the same proven ARG-series construction to smaller engine cooling and raw-water applications — no tie rods, O-ring sealed cap and sight glass, and a tool-free #304 stainless steel basket — in a size suited to smaller inboard engines, auxiliary systems, and tight engine room installations. The see-through screw-on cap allows visual inspection of basket condition without disassembly.
Best Use Case: Ideal as a primary raw-water strainer on small inboard gasoline or diesel engines, generator cooling circuits, air conditioning seawater loops, and other low-to-medium flow raw-water applications requiring a 1/2 in. hose connection. Well-suited for smaller vessels, sailboat auxiliaries, and compact engine room installations where space is limited. Not for use in potable water systems.
