Product Overview
The Racor 660R-RAC-01 is a complete 10-micron high-flow gasoline fuel/water separator assembly designed for larger outboard marine engine fuel systems. It combines an aluminum mounting head, a spin-on Aquabloc® II filter element, and a reusable clear collection bowl with a self-venting drain. Rated at 120 GPH — double the capacity of the 320R series — the 660R-RAC-01 is suited to higher-output outboard engines and multi-engine fuel systems requiring greater flow. The clear bowl allows instant visual inspection of accumulated water and debris, and the self-venting drain makes it easy to remove collected water between filter changes. The aluminum mounting head and reusable bowl are designed for long-term service; only the spin-on filter element (S3227-OR) requires periodic replacement.
- Complete high-flow assembly — aluminum mounting head, 10-micron spin-on filter element, and clear bowl included
- 10-micron Aquabloc® II filter media removes up to 99% of free water and fine particulate contamination
- 120 GPH rated flow — suited to high-output and multi-engine outboard applications
- Reusable clear collection bowl for visual water and contamination monitoring
- Self-venting drain for easy water removal between filter changes
- Electrostatically applied powder-coat head for superior corrosion resistance
- Replaceable spin-on filter element: S3227-OR
- Ports: 3/8"-18 NPTF
- Max pressure: 7 PSI
- Fuel type: Gasoline only
- Weight: approx. 1,179 g / 2.6 lb
Outboard / Above-Deck Use Only: The clear plastic bowl is approved for outboard and above-deck installations only. For inboard or below-deck gasoline installations, use the metal-bowl version 660R-RAC-02. Confirm your installation type before ordering.
Compatible Applications
- High-output outboard gasoline engine fuel systems with 3/8"-18 NPTF fuel connections and flow demand up to 120 GPH
- Multi-engine outboard fuel system installations requiring a single high-capacity water separator
- Above-deck gasoline fuel system installations requiring a serviceable 10-micron water separator with visual bowl inspection
- Outboard or above-deck applications requiring greater flow capacity than the 60-GPH-rated Racor 320R-RAC-01
Fitment Note: Confirm the engine’s fuel-line port size is compatible with 3/8"-18 NPTF fittings and that the actual fuel-flow demand is within 120 GPH before ordering. This assembly is for gasoline only — not for diesel fuel systems.
660R vs. 320R — Which Do I Need?
The Racor 320R-RAC-01 is rated at 60 GPH with 1/4"-18 NPTF ports — the standard choice for most single-outboard applications. The 660R-RAC-01 is rated at 120 GPH with 3/8"-18 NPTF ports — the correct choice for higher-output engines, twin-engine applications, or any installation where the 60 GPH capacity of the 320R is insufficient. Confirm the engine’s actual fuel-flow demand before selecting between the two.
Service Information
Replace the S3227-OR spin-on filter element per the engine or fuel-system manufacturer’s maintenance schedule, or sooner if fuel restriction symptoms develop, contamination is visible in the clear bowl, or reduced fuel flow is observed. Drain collected water from the bowl as needed using the self-venting drain. The mounting head and clear bowl are reusable and do not require replacement during routine element changes.

Installation Notes
- Mount the assembly securely in an accessible location along the fuel line, in an upright or near-upright orientation
- Connect fuel lines to the appropriate inlet and outlet ports on the 3/8"-18 NPTF head using compatible fittings
- Position the clear bowl where it can be visually inspected and drained easily
- Allow at least 2" / 5.1 cm of clearance below the filter element for future spin-on element removal
- After installation, prime the fuel system per the engine manufacturer’s procedure and inspect all fittings, seals, and the self-venting drain for fuel leakage before starting the engine
- Do not use in inboard or below-deck gasoline installations — clear bowl is for outboard / above-deck use only
Technical FAQ
What is the replacement filter element for the 660R-RAC-01? The replacement spin-on element is the Racor S3227-OR (10 micron). The mounting head and clear bowl are reusable — only the spin-on element is replaced at each service interval.
What is the difference between the 660R-RAC-01 and 320R-RAC-01? The 660R-RAC-01 has a 120 GPH flow rating with 3/8"-18 NPTF ports. The 320R-RAC-01 is rated at 60 GPH with 1/4"-18 NPTF ports. Both use a clear bowl for outboard / above-deck use, but are not interchangeable — select based on your fuel-flow requirement and port size.
Can I use this on an inboard gasoline engine? No — the clear plastic bowl is approved for outboard and above-deck installations only. Use the 660R-RAC-02 metal-bowl version for inboard applications.
What port size does this use? The 660R-RAC-01 uses 3/8"-18 NPTF ports. Confirm your fuel line fittings match before ordering.

Parts Desk Insights
The 660R-RAC-01 is the high-flow version of the outboard clear-bowl separator — the right call when a customer has a larger-output engine or a twin-engine setup where the 320R’s 60 GPH capacity isn’t sufficient. The most important fitment check is port size: 3/8"-18 NPTF on the 660R vs. 1/4"-18 NPTF on the 320R — confirm before ordering. Also confirm the replacement element: the 660R uses S3227-OR, not the S3227 used in the 320R-RAC-01. The clear-bowl vs. metal-bowl rule applies the same way as the 320R series — clear bowl for outboard / above-deck, metal bowl (660R-RAC-02) for inboard / below-deck.
