Raymarine A06034 SeaTalkng Backbone Cable β 1m / 3.3 ft
Part Number: A06034 (distributor SKU: 152-A06034)
Brand: Raymarine
Type: SeaTalkng backbone cable
Length: 1m / 3.3 ft
Connectors: SeaTalkng 5-pin backbone connectors at both ends
Product Overview
Raymarine A06034 is a 1m SeaTalkng backbone cable for building or extending a SeaTalkng marine instrument network. SeaTalkng backbone cables carry both data and 12V power along the main network run, linking instruments, sensors, autopilots, and other SeaTalkng accessories through spur connections. The 1m / 3.3 ft length is the most versatile mid-range backbone section β suitable for bridging between a 5-way connector and a terminator, extending a backbone run, or filling gaps in console or companionway routing where the shorter 400mm cable is too short and a longer cable would create unnecessary slack.
- SeaTalkng backbone cable, 1m / 3.3 ft
- Carries both data and 12V network power along the backbone
- SeaTalkng 5-pin backbone connectors at both ends
- Pre-made, pre-terminated β no field termination required
- Marine-grade construction for onboard environments
- For use in the SeaTalkng backbone (not a spur/drop cable)
- Weight: approx. 180 g
SeaTalkng Network Overview
SeaTalkng is Raymarineβs proprietary marine instrument network, electrically and physically compatible with NMEA 2000. The network backbone (carrying data and power) runs through the vessel; spur cables branch off the backbone at T-piece connectors to reach individual instruments and sensors. Terminators must be installed at both physical ends of the backbone for correct network operation.
Compatible Applications
- Building a new SeaTalkng backbone run in a Raymarine instrument installation
- Extending an existing SeaTalkng backbone by adding a 1m section
- Bridging between a SeaTalkng 5-way connector block and a nearby backbone terminator or the next backbone section
- Filling backbone routing gaps in cockpit, helm, or companionway installations
- Compatible with all Raymarine SeaTalkng instruments and accessories: i50, i60, i70, i70s, p70, p70R autopilots, SeaTalkng sensors
- Compatible with NMEA 2000 devices via the Raymarine A06076 SeaTalkng to DeviceNet Adaptor Cable
SeaTalkng Backbone Cable Family
Raymarine backbone cables are available in multiple lengths. The A06033 (400mm) is the shortest standard section for very tight runs; the A06034 (1m) is the most common general-purpose backbone section. Longer cables are available for extended runs. Use the appropriate combination of cable lengths to route the backbone cleanly through the vessel without excessive slack.

Installation Notes
- Connect the A06034 backbone cable between backbone components β terminators, 5-way connectors, or other backbone cable sections
- Do not use backbone cables as spur/drop cables to connect instruments directly β use SeaTalkng spur cables for instrument connections
- Install a terminator at each physical end of the complete backbone before powering the network
- Route the cable away from pinch points, sharp edges, and heat sources; secure at regular intervals
- After installation, verify all instruments and sensors appear on the network through the display setup menu
Technical FAQ
What is the difference between this and the A06033? The A06033 is 400mm / 1.3 ft β for very tight or compact backbone runs. The A06034 is 1m / 3.3 ft β the most common general-purpose backbone section for most installations.
Is SeaTalkng compatible with NMEA 2000? Yes β SeaTalkng is electrically and physically compatible with NMEA 2000 but uses Raymarineβs proprietary circular connectors. The A06076 SeaTalkng to DeviceNet Adaptor Cable connects SeaTalkng and standard Micro-C NMEA 2000 devices.
How many terminators does a SeaTalkng backbone need? Every SeaTalkng backbone requires exactly one terminator at each physical end β two total. See the Raymarine A06031 SeaTalkng Backbone Terminator.

Parts Desk Insights
The A06034 (1m) is the workhorse SeaTalkng backbone cable β the right pick for the majority of backbone section needs. The most common ordering issue is customers confusing backbone cables with spur cables: backbone cables have the same style 5-pin circular connector at both ends, while spur cables have a smaller connector on the instrument end. Also remind customers that two terminators are always required at the backbone ends regardless of how many backbone sections are used β a missing terminator is the first thing to check when a network isnβt communicating. For customers building a complete new SeaTalkng installation, recommend starting with the SeaTalkng Starter Kit which includes backbone cable, spur cable, power cable, and terminators.
