Spur vs. Backbone — What’s the Difference?

The backbone is the main trunk cable running the length of the vessel, using blue locking connectors. Spur cables branch off the backbone at T-pieces or 5-way blocks and connect to individual devices using the white 5-pin spur connector. Spur cables are not interchangeable with backbone cables and must not be joined end-to-end.
